  • Who provides home care services?
  • A reliable Alleva Home Care caregiver who has been selected specifically for the client, based on the client’s needs, delivers companionship and care.

  • Are your caregivers insured?
  • Yes, all Alleva Home Care caregivers are insured and bonded. Alleva Home Care is responsible for paying the caregiver, paying social security taxes, supplying workers' compensation insurance, paying federal and state unemployment taxes and complying with all legislation.

  • Will Medicare cover this service?
  • Alleva Home Care chose not to seek Medicare certification because Medicare does not cover the type of care in which we specialize. Many of our clients require more assistance than is covered by Medicare or have needs not covered by the Medicare program.

  • Do you only take care of seniors?
  • No, we provide services for a variety of individuals of all ages with many different personal care needs.

  • Do you provide services in facilities?
  • Yes, we send caregivers to hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. We provide all of the same personal care services just as we would in your own home.

  • Is there a "Contract for Services" and if so, what is the cancellation policy?
  • Yes, there is a service contract that stipulates the rate, level of care, patient rights, and overall permission to provide home care service to the individual. You may cancel the services being provided. There is no specification or obligation as to length of time within the contract.

  • What is the minimum number of hours required per shift?
  • Our cases require a 3-hour minimum shift to ensure that our clients’ needs are fully met.

  • Do you provide twenty-four hour care?
  • Yes, we provide twenty-four hour service. We usually break the shift up into 8-12 hour shifts for each caregiver working to always have a fresh, alert staff member on duty.

  • How often are patient care needs reassessed?
  • Each client is assigned and works closely with their personal case manager. This professional conducts regular monthly assessments. During the visit the case manager reviews the care that is being provided. A thorough evaluation is performed to determine that the services being provided are consistent with the clients’ personal care needs.

  • How are calls handled after business hours and on weekends?
  • Alleva Home Care has professionals from the staffing and administrative departments on call 24/7. Each client is given the after-hours phone numbers in the event a situation arises that affects continuity of care.

  • Why should I go through an agency as opposed to privately hiring someone?
  • When someone privately hires an individual they become the employer. With that come liability risks, staffing responsibilities, and quality management. An agency, like ourselves, insures and bonds all of our employees, assigns staffing managers to coordinate consistent staffing measures and conducts monthly nurse assessments to client's homes to monitor quality of care. With an agency, the client can be assured that their care will be provided on a consistent basis and the family members who may need a break will have time to do the things they need to do, worry-free.
